About . . .

Untitled design(1).jpg

Ishana is a recording artist who was born in Mississauga, Ontario, and raised in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She currently resides in Montreal, Canada.

She was a member of the Montreal Jubilation Gospel Choir, with which she was involved in closing performances of the Montreal International Jazz Festival, and performed with them in venues such as the Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier and the Theatre Maisonneuve. Growing up, she found joy in singing in classical choirs, jazz choirs, and the previously mentioned gospel choir.

She holds a diploma in classical guitar. After leaving her musicology program to pursue her own musical vision, she worked with local Montreal producers and studios, discovering her sound, and eventually began self-producing her songs.

In 2022, she received a grant from FACTOR which she used to work with acclaimed producer Glen Robinson (credits with the Beach Boys, the Ramones, Charlotte Cardin...). That same year, she recorded a rock album in another collaboration (to be released). Meanwhile, she polished her production chops and released self-produced singles (notably "Calm Cool Collected"), gaining new interest from fans with her new sound.

A self-taught producer and mixer, Ishana works as a vocal coach, also teaching guitar and piano.

She currently has two released albums and has entered a new musical era.
